Youths or young blood are restless, wild and born free. They don’t and won’t want to be confined inside four walls and stay idle and so, during Quarantine a high amount of frustration and retaliation was seen among the youths. This retaliation was justified to some extant as because when our government comes up with silly concepts, solutions and ideas to battle Corona Virus, when North Eastern people are getting racially attacked at places outside North East and when NGO’s working hard to feed stray animals are abused and pelted with stones, Youths will react with retaliation. But at some point retaliation was becoming a form of rebellion when Youths tried to defy the Government’s orders and was roaming freely, one reason, to buy booze the day wine shops were open and met with arrests or accidents.
But along with that, some youth also acted positive for the society by taking initiative to
spread sanitizers, masks, soaps and ration among needy, feeding the poor and strays despite hindrance caused by the adult residents and trying to do productive works in their locality. Institutes and teachers were providing online classes to the students and musicians and artists were engaged in producing “quarantine contents”.
Also, we all know that when the death toll in Italy was higher people in India panicked and also since that coronation ceremony, people in India panicked more, but then also other sections retaliated thinking their religious sentiments were violated and so, our people defied the government once again. But when Italy set an example to the world that by following a government, one could bring positive solution and can save people, In India also our government and doctors came up with solutions that finally made senses to the people and then retaliation got turned into obedience and so, most Red zones in India now are re-considered as Green and Orange zones where relaxation might be imposed. Banks and other official works are continuing and most business structures like small shops are now open.
So yes, we can say that in one way or the other, we youths in this period of quarantine acted both stupidly as well as responsibly but in the end, we all came to our senses and abided by the rules of our government. Now we can finally feel that we can battle and overcome this pandemic and all will be over very soon.
