The situation today is not good. We are facing a time when people across the world are dying every day like flies and the well known reason is coronavirus. Many nations including India are now under lockdown to limit the spread of this deadly virus but this virus seems unstoppable at this moment. The nations like Italy and the USA which were earlier known for their best medical systems in the world are striving to stop this virus but nothing looks working for them.
Amidst all this crisis, the epicenter of virus Wuhan in China is lifting all the restrictions and China is moving back to their work. But now, there are certain questions emerging which the whole world at this moment is asking to China which they need to answer.
Here are a few factual questions to which the world wants an answer from China.
1) The first case of coronavirus surfaced in Wuhan city of China last year in the month of November. But China informed the world and WHO about this virus on 31st December when the number of cases had reached a few hundred. But then also they stopped WHO from intervening and assured WHO that they can manage this virus on their own. Why China?
2) On the 1st of January, around 1 lakh 75 thousand people from Wuhan city returned to their villages and cities. Despite knowing the fact about the transmission of the virus, China allowed free movement from Wuhan. Why China?
3) On 23rd Jan, China restricted the transportation services in Wuhan. But till then, 70 lakh people already traveled from Wuhan and people in thousands got infected to this virus. Why China?
4) Despite this fact, China did not restrict international flights from China. People from China kept traveling outside and people from other nations continued to visit China. The same people who traveled outside of China during this period transmitted the virus to other nations. Why China?
5) In the mid of January, many nations reported the cases of this virus but yet China took a long time to restrict international flights and finally decided to put a ban on 31st January but till then it was too late. Why China?
6) Before the outbreak of this virus in China, many Chinese doctors had warned China about this threat but China instead of listening to them arrested the doctor on allegations of fake news and later the same doctor died from the same coronavirus. China even destroyed the samples of coronavirus tests. Guess why?
7) After the news of this outbreak, Philippines decided to ban the entry of Chinese travelers to restrict the transmission of the virus. But the foreign ambassador of China in Philippines warned them with threat that if they don’t lift the travel ban, China will stop business imports with the Philippines. Why China?
8) Today around 190 nations are suffering from this virus which originated from China. Many nations want to have a discussion on the threat of this virus in the United Nations Security Council but again China is net letting this discussion to take place. It is worth remembering that currently, the Chairmanship of UNSC is with China. China believe this virus is not a threat and doesn’t deserve to be discussed in UNSC. Why China?
9) Interestingly, the outbreak of this virus in China was limited to Wuhan and a particular region. This virus managed to travel nations that are several thousands of kilometers away but it failed to spread across China including big Chinese cities like Shanghai and Beijing which are just a few hundred kilometers away. How China?
China will have to answer this questions as the world is facing serious humanitarian crisis which we could possibly term as “Wuhan Virus”.
