Among the wilderness of Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary

The year might have been 2015 when I was in my end semester and my college buddies planned a little trip to Pobitora wildlife sanctuary through crowd-funding two weeks prior to the visit. And, so before going there we did some research about route to take and stop by’s.

And so around 7 am of sometimes around August we started our journey from Bora Service, Ulubari on a rented bus and made a little stop at ABC around 9 am to grab another friend with foods and fire woods. And then we headed towards Chandrapur via Sonapur to pick up another friend.

Around 10 we made a little stop by at a hotel to grab some breakfast and moved to our

destination which was a picnic spot near a resort. And then, we started to have the foods cooked. While the girls were at it, we boys had a match of cricket till it was time to eat. After the lunch, we took a low cost boat ride from a fisherman instead of the pricey cruise which could have cost us 3500 RS by the river however we did had a plan to take a jeep Safari inside the sanctuary but due to some reasons and unable to bargain we just had to consider other options and with other solutions we managed to get to a peak point from where we could see the wild animals.

Also, how can I not mention the walk on the Haduk hanging bridge nearby? It was a fun trip and most probably the last time I had fun with my college buddies before graduation. It was one of a kind experience to get out of the materialistic life and connect with the nature for once. Go wild in the abandoned land near the wilderness, play cricket and get dirty. This is what I call serenity. For once I would love to visit Pobitora once again.
