THE TRAVEL HOOK-3 ll One mile at a time with Cyndy ll

Welcome back guys to my Travel Blog Part 3. I hope you all are enjoying my each and every little piece of the story. I was eagerly waiting to share my experiences in Dimapur.

So Dimapur is the largest city in Nagaland , India. Surrounded by Kohima, Peren , Karbi Anglong and Golaghat districts it is the gateway to Nagaland and mainly famous as the commercial hub of the state. If you don't enjoy train journeys that much the city also provides the only functional airport in whole Nagaland.

We rode through the streets of the state popular for its inexpensive markets but full of lavish items. If you ever visit this place please avoid the malls and get into those galliyans where you'll definitely spot your favourite pair of belonging! Our one day events in Dimapur included loads of shopping and good variety of food starting from delicious snacks to sweets and to end it all the special meetha paan.

I know the one reading this blog ,well is a foodie too so grab your bagsssss but oOoOps wait till the lockdown ends! Slowly sliding my sarcasm into the pocket and moving on to the next day we head towards Kohima , Nagaland around 5 in the morning. There is a sumo stand near the station itself where you can book your ride to Kohima for about Rs. 300 per person.

The place already started showing its charm when we crossed Kohima borders. It almost took around 3 hours and we reached by 8:30-9 am. After we got down we book another taxi for our next ride to Visvema Village.

There are two routes to Dzukou Valley: 1. Zakhama Village – This is one of the routes that you can take to reach Dzukou Valley. You need to take a shared cab from BOC counter in Kohima to Zakhama Village and ask the driver to drop you on the road to Dzukou (Located 3 kms from Zakhama Military Camp). This route is shorter and you reach the valley fast but requires a steep climb so if you are not a professional trekker I would suggest you not to choose this route.

2. Visvema Village – This is located 28 kms from Kohima and the route taking you to Dzukou valley is long but easier. It has a steep rough climb for one hour or so and then the way is straight through the trail of mountains full of flowers and trees up to the valley.

Few Tips: Our trip from Kohima to Visvema Village cost us a lot since we were only two people traveling. So if you are more people together get a shared cab which will cost you only Rs. 80 per person. After reaching Visvema Village you need to pay a registration fee. Then there is a route of 8 km up to the Trekking point of The Dzukou Valley so you again need to book a sumo for about Rs. 1500 with capacity of about 10 people. It might seem like it will be easier to trek that route instead of wasting 1500 but trust me its a rough road ahead and taking the sumo is the best option for you.

The place gifts you with eye wobbling sights and itself screams heights of solitude and calmness. You just feel like sitting there and stare at the horizon that shuns you completely from the world outside that heaven. You can never get enough of the tranquility and peace of this ever-so-satisfying land.

I shall be back one last time with The Final Tale of The Dzukou Valley. Just a little more patience for the story that will give you chills! So be right here with me on 28th April at 6 pm sharp. Trust me it will get exciting like never before. Till then , Stay tune guys! Stay connected but don't forget to stay home! Signing off Spread more love :)
