INKED STREETS PRESENTS:-RAW STAR PART 2

Today’s feature artist Prachurjya Borgohain

Since late 2018 Assamese music have started to take a new shape, all thanks to Shankuraj Kunwor as well as Joi Baruah and Nilotpal Boruah, who brought new flavours into Assamese songs and have garnered mainstream recognitions. Meanwhile, there are also few artist who have not gotten much exposures in the lime light.

Prachurjya Borgohain, an aspiring neo folk singer from Assam currently situated at New Delhi have been blending Western Neo Folk, EDM, Pop, Rock, RnB and modern Assamese and Assamese folk music into a sweet cocktail of melodic ingredient.

Prachurjya Borgohain came into prominence with his debut single “Xurobhi” in January 2020, which is an untold story of love and affection and the feeling of emptiness and gloominess after we lose someone we once loved unconditionally, straight from the thoughts input into his diary between the periods of his loss.

The song’s lyrics touches the spirit of true love and longing so well that it connotes with the EDM induced bass drops and synth lines.

Prachurjya’s Next song “Spondon” who lyrically celebrates the spirit of being a journeyman,

a vagabond, a wanderer, a traveller, a back-packer, a nomad, you name it. Journey towards self-discovery after a loss is hard to take and “Spondon” like a sequel to “Xurobhi” is where Prachurjya seems to have been telling us that he have learned to overcome his loss and have learned to move on.

Apart from his music career, Prachurjya have also been a part of AASU at New Delhi as well as an active member of a folk as well as Bihu Troop and have performed in some successful shows as well as National TV.

We at Inked Streets would love to grant our heartfelt wishes to Prachurjya Borgohain for his up and coming projects.
