Why is modern video game industries are too akin to showcase a fictional war scenario from the future or a supposed WWII story or a regiment's time in Vietnam or Japan cliche or the Soviet Russia scenario fabricated and scripted to look relevant that is more prominent in Call of Duty or Battlefield franchise instead of depicting an actual present day war in a game which were last seen on titles like Medal of Honor which depicted the US-Afghan conflicts and Spec Ops:-The Line which showed the US' takeover of the middle east nations, especially Iran and Syria, though it was set in Dubai?

True, for a 2010 game Medal of Honor was really high for its standard judging by the fact that it was inspired by Battle of Robert Ridge, but the game's continuation with Warfighter was totally fictional so to speak and only real aspect it covered was the terror of suicide bombing in America and to add to that the closure of Danger Close Games, the studio behind its development made the franchise go in a nutshell. And as for Spec Ops:-The Line the formula was very simple, it cried a shame on those war games like Modern Warfare and Battlefield who has been glorifying the atrocities of the US special forces while presented Islamist nations or Russians or Japs as bunch of warmongers as if they hates America for real and has nothing better to do, but in Spec Ops they wanted us to see that the real enemy was in the country within. Everyone is familiar with what USA have done in Iran and Syria in past three decades, but like I say no one loves to face the harsh reality of war in any media, be it movie, novel, web series or games and so Spec Ops was just slipped under the carpet by those who would rather spend time fighting a fictional war in Modern Warfare or Battlefield while feeling like a so called hero all of a sudden. Also, like most humans, gamers also have a knack of judging a game by trailers and gameplay or art design until they get the final product. I get that Spec Ops played out like a generic third person shooter game but if you go deep into its story there's more to it. The climatic "white phosphorus" scene where you accidentally kill 47 innocent to become a freaking hero and later realize what you did was indeed a tight slap for those countries that boasts about their bio weapons and nuclear power and indeed shows that the US is the real enemy unlike what other war games shows where Russians or Islamist or Koreans or Japs are the clichéd enemies as if these countries lives on war and hate US for real. The idea was on the point, make the US army, US Delta Force and CIA fight each other while Dubai burns in hell with water supply cut off and military rules implied, similar incidents like in Iran or Syria. Also it covered the horrors of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Manic Depression. But no one wanted to accept it. Sad but true. Also, everyone knows what Call of Duty have become, let's see the fact, the original COD showcased actual events of Word War 2, but with Modern Warfare it went futuristic and the concept was more jarring in Advanced Warfare and the horrendous Infinite Warfare, I mean why delve into an impossible future when you can show the present day scenario? is it too much to ask?
Its all about intensity, enjoyment and hell lot of graphic technology. No one seems to pay attention to the story line. Medal of honor, if any of the members have played was quite optimized as well, compared to the latest segments in the gaming franchise. And the fabricated storyline provides cringe or feeds off the imagination of the people these days... It is more about what is almost on the edge of reality. And it is always hard to separate truth from the legend!
