For an average guy in his late 20s, things that are important is a job, a car, some cash, a girl and all those typical shits, but for me I just wanted to have some peace of mind and get rid of my traumas. Which is why since the age of 17 I grew fond of music. From Oldies by Md. Rafi to Kishor to hard hitting heavy metal by Iron Maiden or modern technicality by Periphery or Meshuggah, I just like the way the seventh note is being hit in each genres.
Yeah yeah, I get it, you might be thinking I will be talking about that shitty experience in the music scene
and with the people again, haha that shit is long gone and I’m still trying to overcome that. Thing is I learnt to be myself now and to improve my skills in each field. I knew I wasn’t trained in vocals and I learnt by myself but I was going one track and one dimensional and hence I had to revamp myself. I searched for stuffs over YouTube and followed people who could help me get the technique right. So now I can say that I finally understand how music actually works and have learnt more about the genres I love on a deeper level.
Thing is, being a self-learnt musician, there are more room for us to improvise and know our limits and try out new things. You know which song you can pull off and which you cannot, which suits your ranges and which doesn’t. I may not know the theories but have the basic knowledge at a surface level but I know I have yet to learn, so, yeah now I welcome the criticism, but criticism must be put in a right way instead of acting like an assh**** troll or memer wannabe.
So this is it, one’s zeal for learning shall never fade away and one’s love for music shall be there in their
hearts till death.
Music drives us, and like the six, seven or eight strings of a guitar, our heart strums a chord that makes things beautiful even if the past have traumatized us and scared us. We find hope to live forever among the lyrics and the sound of a tune, becomes the sound of our life. Just so you know? A bad-ass track by your favorite singer can sometimes turn out to be your life’s f**** anthem, like a f**** battle theme or something. So, like Eminem said, “YOU BETTER LOSE YOURSELF IN THE MUSIC, THE MOMENT YOU OWN IT, YOU BETTER NEVER LET IT GO. YOU ONLY GET ONE SHOT, DO NOT MISS YOUR CHANCE TO BLOW. THIS OPPORTUNITY COMES ONCE IN A LIFETIME!”
